Yuniel Jiménez, hailed as one of the best Cuban treseros to explode into the city’s music scene in recent years, will present a unique concert spanning the rich stylistic nuances of el punto cubano, Cuba’s música campesina or country music. This Cuban guajiro, a native of Santa Clara, arrived in Manhattan via Havana and Barcelona, and has become the entertainer du jour in Big Apple clubs, sharing the stage with artists such Liuba Maria Hevia, Luisito Quintero, Yunior Terry, Oriente Lopez Chocolate Armenteros, Kiko Pi de la Serra, Javier Carlos Lage, Karel Garcia, Mane Ferret, and many others. A poet in his own right, Yuniel’s repertoire features original compositions full of musical craftsmanship and emotional depth, as he unveils the sorrows and joys of un guajiro cubano en Nueva York.
