URBAN NARRATIVES: HAVANA TO NEW YORK

Tuesday, July 6, 2021 ~ 6 to 8 pm

The CCCNY launches a special Summer Calendar by joining forces with Revelation Gallery for its exhibit of John Connors‘ paintings of old Havana, inspired by the energy and vitality of the centuries old streets and squares, and the bustling activity of its citizens. As a street painter, Connors is interested in architecture as evidence of the layers of time, and how Havana’s glories and wealth of the past serve as contrast to the current everyday life of its people . He has also included some New York views. As a New Yorker, Connors felt very in sync with Havana’s street life and the humor and drama of its citizens.

Opening reception will include live piano music, featuring Cuban classics. Drinks will be served outdoors in St Benedict’s Courtyard, which adjoins the Gallery.
